Music & Performing Arts Update

Our music and performing arts students are buzzing with a number of performances that have been held recently and over the next few weeks.

Our very talented music students performed for the school community on Tuesday 25th August at the Annual Music Concert, held in the activity centre at the Junior Campus. It was a fantastic display of these students’ musical talents and skills. Everyone who attended enjoyed a wonderful evening of outstanding performances. Congratulations to these students for Aspiring to Achieve and to our music staff for their ongoing commitment and support.

The annual Network Concert will be held at the Clocktower Centre in Moonee Ponds on Monday 7th September at 6.30pm. For bookings and enquiries, visit www.clocktowercentre.com.au or call 9243 9191. This is a terrific event that sees our students collaborating with primary students from Cairnlea Park PS, Deer Park West PS, Deer Park North PS and St Albans Primary School in music, dance and drama. We encourage as many families to attend as possible to support our students.

Our Year 7-9 music students will also hold a series of workshops with other secondary colleges in the area at Derrimut Primary School on 10th September. The focus of the day is Environmental Sustainability and our students will be involved in teaching primary and secondary students from other schools how to make instruments out of recycled materials and then play some songs with them. Our junior concert band will also be playing the opening performance. Thank you to our music staff for organising all of these events which give our students great opportunities to perform in front of the wider community, and for supporting our students to Aspire to Achieve and Strengthen the Community.
