VUSC students together with Western Edge Youth Arts present ‘LEAR’ by Shakespeare, performed over two nights with shows commencing at 7pm.
The play is about a newly created utopian world; one which has been created for the sole purpose of peace, prosperity and equality. Teenagers who are desperately seeking to live in a society more just and tolerant than the ones they have grown up in run it. When Lear, the founder, decides it is time for her to step down as leader, she halves her empire between two new leaders and for the first time, the community is divided. Under new reign, Utopia is suddenly under threat.
